How to Update the Blog

To add a new post to the blog:
Click New Post on the top of the blog window:




CLICK NEW POST



A window will open: Select “Compose”




MAKE SURE COMPOSE IS SELECTED
You can begin typing your post description. You can use the font and select size and Bold, Italics, or Underline. You can use the ABC to do spell check.








TO ADD PIC CLICK ON  IMAGE ICON

To enter pictures: Click on the Image icon  
The window below will open. Choose where you get your images from. you can select all at the same time. They will load in order of appearance. Click Add selected when done.



To add hyperlinks to your post: You can shorten your url or post the whole thing.
follow this example:


Use the this format:  Facebook http://tinyurl.com/yd3mxfsu
Do this for as many places you post, just like we do on the community.





Adding your link to side panels

Click the tools on any one of the items: Each one is a little different but same basic process.
The top section you should not touch. Enter the name you want displayed on the back and then
enter your url. Make sure you click save or it
will go away.  






Just a reminder on the rules:


  1. Limit to four posts a week.
  2. Please share live links on your post to the social media platforms (Pinterest, FB, Twitter, etc) you want your item shared to. 
  3. You MUST comment on each blog post - the comments should have 1-2 of the key words the post, instead of just "pretty" or something like that. 
  4. Share to at least TWO social media sites - more if you can.  If on FB, please share the item to your personal or biz page timeline, not just like and comment the item.  
  5. Add fun / informative articles when you like. 






HOW TO MAKE ITEM PHOTOS CLICKABLE ON YOUR BLOG POST


After adding your item photo(s) when working on your blog:

1. Copy the item URL of your item.

2. Click on the photo in the blog. It will look shaded.

3. Look at the blog dashboard. The link icon will be shaded. Click on it to "unshade" it.

4. Click on the photo again to shade it.

5. Click on the link icon again and a dialog box will show up. Paste the item URL and click "OK"



The photo should be clickable when you share the post.





Here are the steps to post on the Items Sold page:


  1. Open the blog like you are going to do a new post. 
  2. In the top left hand corner, click “Cross Partners in . . . “ 
  3. Click “pages” in the list on the left. 
  4. Click “Items Sold” 
  5. Then add your item like you would on the blog. Add your item to the top, just under the title, so the newest items shared are at the top.

  3. I don't know if anyone is interested, but I use a standalone program called LiveWriter to do my blog posts and then schedule them in advance. That is how I do all of the countdowns. If you are interested, here is the link, and I have been using it for years, so i can answer questions. http://openlivewriter.org/ It's open source software and free. You can connect as many blogger accounts as you need, which makes it great for those of us who manage a number of blogs. It's a little easier to use than coming directly to blogger, as it is more like a word program. HTH
