Shakyamuni Buddha Necklace, Rustic Meditation Yoga Handmade Jewelry

The meaningful "Meditation" handmade necklace features a Fair Trade Shakyamuni Buddha necklace, rustic Czech tube beads and old world seed beads - unique yoga jewelry for women.

The MEDITATION Shakyamuni Buddha pendant necklace is perfect for the woman who meditates, takes yoga or just loves one of a kind jewelry. The meaningful, one of a kind necklace features a rustic brass Shakyamuni Buddha pendant, earthy matte tube beads, old world striped seed beads and copper. The peaceful looking Fair Trade Buddha pendant was artisan handmade from brass in a small village in Thailand. The brass was darkened and then given a rich seafoam blue green patina to bring out the incredible detail of the meditating Buddha, the platform he sits on and the curved leafed arch around him. It was then polished so that the raised areas glow with the rich color of the shiny brass. The pendant is two sided with the Buddha is on the front side. On the back, which has a dark patina, is an inscribed Buddhist unalome, a symbol that represents the path to enlightenment.  To perfectly highlight the Buddha pendant, Czech glass tubes and striped beads were used to provide even more rustic charm. The matte finish tube beads are a great mix of earthy colors including various shades of green, dark brown and mustard yellow. To create an aged look to the beads, a mottled medium brown Picasso finish was added. Between each tube beads are found shiny Czech glass seed beads with an old word Picasso finish to mimic antique trade beads from hundreds of years ago. Most have stripes, but not all. Small copper beads separate each bead and add a lovely glow. A copper toggle clasp with a patina finishes the necklace securely. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the MEDITATION necklace was carefully created for the woman who adores wearing unique, spiritual jewelry.

The Shakyamuni Buddha pendant is Fair Trade and was artisan handmade in a small Thai village.

Christmas Holiday Earrings, Silver Red Green Crystals Handmade Jewelry

The beautiful "Christmas Cheer" handmade earrings feature rustic Czech glass nuggets with a silver mercury glass finish and red and green Swarovski crystals - holiday jewelry for women.

Filled to the brim with sparkling holiday vibes, the CHRISTMAS CHEER handmade earrings are a pair you will want to wear time and time again. Perfect jewelry to wear the whole season long, the gorgeous earrings feature rustic Czech glass nuggets beads with a silver mercury glass finish. Adding a huge amount of sparkle are red and green Swarovski crystals. The silvered Czech glass nuggets, called an English cut, were lightly tumbled to give them a weathered, beach glass look. Coated in a bright silver mercury glass finish, the beads have a rich reflective shine (which often caught my shirt when photographing them). Since the nuggets are faceted, the beads add subtle sparkle to the design. Sterling silver daisy spacers cap the top and bottom of each nugget. Sitting above the English cut nuggets are sparkling faceted Swarovski crystal bicones in classic Christmas colors. The largest is a color called “Siam,” a rich, deep red that positively catches your eye when backlit. Above the red crystal, separated by a small sterling disc spacer, is another faceted bicone in the color of “emerald,” a translucent, deep green. And, as if the earrings needed even more sparkle, another Siam red crystal was added to each sterling French hook earwire. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the CHRISTMAS CHEER artisan earrings were created for the woman who loves to wear unique holiday jewelry!

This jewelry set has a necklace and earrings handmade with small matte black and metallic copper edged cathedral Czech glass faceted crystals and copper plated chain. Cathedral beads come in many colors. They are known for their beautiful, filigree-like metallic edges.

The upper part of the necklace has a copper plated chain and the lower half has 9 cathedral crystals that are linked together with wire. Because the crystals are small, this gives the necklace a light, delicate look. The necklace fastens with a copper plated trigger clasp.

Sun Symbol Necklace, Southwest Petroglyph Gemstones Handmade Jewelry

The beautiful "Halo Sun" handmade necklace features a petroglyph inspired sun pendant, leopardskin jasper, shell and copper - unique Southwest jewelry for women.

Filled with the rich, earthy colors of the Desert Southwest, the one of a kind HALO SUN necklace is a perfect handmade jewelry gift for the woman who loves the symbolism of Native American petroglyphs. The beautiful necklace features an artisan polymer clay sun symbol pendant, leopardskin jasper gemstones, shell heishe and copper. The pendant was created from white polymer clay. A concentric circle halo sun symbol design was inscribed free hand into the polymer clay then hand painted with earthy pigments reminiscent of the sandstone and sage of the desert. The backside of the pendant is also inscribed with a petroglyph looking design, including the maker’s mark, a spiraling P. A coating of clear polymer clay sealer was applied to protect the pendant and keep it vibrant for many years of wearing pleasure. Three heavy gauge copper jump rings securely fasten the unique wire bail of the pendant to the main body of the necklace.

To perfectly highlight the colors of the sun pendant, gorgeous leopardskin jasper and shell heishe was used. Also sometimes referred to as jaguar stone, leopardskin jasper is known for its earthy colors and distinct potter and swirly patterns. As you can see in the photos, the colors range from a dark reddish brown pinks, peaches and a pale beige. Each stone is distinct in its pattern. Between each grouping of three leopardskin jasper rounds, each separated by small copper beads, is found three thin heishe shell discs in a pale peachy color, also separated from the jasper by copper beads. A copper hook clasp set finishes the meaningful necklace. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the HALO SUN petroglyph inspired necklace is a lovely gift for the woman who is captivated by the magic and beauty of the symbols.

The unique halo sun petroglyph pendant was artisan created from polymer clay that was hand inscribed and painted.

Cactus Red Flower Earrings, Red Coral Copper Vintage Handmade Jewelry

The fun "Spikes" handmade earrings feature artisan vintage look cactus on copper dangles and red coral - unique jewelry for women.

Cactus and other succulents are all the rage now to grow . . . and to wear (jewelry, that is!).  Stylish and lightweight to wear, the perfectly named, one of a kind SPIKES handmade earrings feature artisan vintage look cactus dangles, red coral discs and copper.  The eye catching cactus dangles look like they were upcycled from old tea or cookie tins -  but they only mimic rustic vintage tins.  The dangles were individually hand cut into a rectangle shape from modern copper sheeting, filed and sanded.  A permanent metal transfer was applied for the faux tin look and then the charms were sealed for many years of wearing fun.  Against a background of light gray and cream, a green barrel cactus with long, wicked looking thorns leans a bit to the left on each dangle.  To add extra interest, a single red blossom pokes up from the crown of each cactus.  Since the dangles were individually handmade, there are slight differences which add wonderful rustic vibes. The back of each dangle is smooth, shiny copper which will gradually gain a patina over time.  Because the charms are made from copper sheeting, the earrings are very lightweight to wear.

The color of the flower on the barrel cacti are perfectly complemented with hand cut red coral discs.   Three discs were used to create a stack, capped on the bottom with a single pure copper bicone and capped on the top with two bicones separated by a small copper bead..  Because the red coral was hand cut, the discs are very similar in size and finish but are not exactly the same.  All of the elements were strung on copper wire, wire wrapped and then connected to sterling silver French hook earwires with copper bead accents.  Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the SPIKES handmade earrings are a perfect jewelry gift for the woman who loves cactus.  

The barrel cactus charms were artisan handmade with a metal transfer onto copper.

These earrings have double, two-sided dimensional antiqued brass crescent moon charms. The moons have raised stars, three on the surface, and one larger rising above the lower portion of the moon. The opposite sides are the same. The ear wire wires are also antiqued brass. See the size of the charms and the length of the earrings below.

The color of antiqued brass is a little lighter than bronze but darker than antiqued gold. It remains to be a very popular metal choice in today's handmade jewelry.

Sugar Skulls Earrings, Flower Eyes Day of the Dead Halloween Jewelry

The "Wild Eyed Skulls" handmade earrings feature magnesite skulls with polymer clay flower eyes, Swarovski crystals and sterling silver - Halloween and Day of the Dead jewelry for women.

If you are looking for a mega fun pair of handmade sugar skull earrings to wear for Halloween and Day of the Dead / Dia de los Muertos, then look no farther! The WILD EYED SKULLS earrings are definitely the ones for you. The unique earrings feature magnesite skulls inset with flower eyes, Swarovski crystals and sterling silver. The smile inducing skulls are made of carved magnesite gemstones with a permanent turquoise dye. As you can see, the color is a rich turquoise blue with natural veining that is brown. What really catches the eye, however, are the wild looking flower eyes! The five petalled flowers are artisan handmade from polymer clay. The pink and white colors, with just a hint of blue around the center, pop against the turquoise color of the skulls - you can’t help but notice them! The flowers were bonded to the eye holes of the skulls with industrial strength glue.  Adding exquisite sparkle to each sugar skull earring are two faceted Swarovski crystal bicones in a color called “Indian pink.”  The crystals are a dramatic translucent pink that glitter at each movement of the head when the earrings are worn. The crystals are separated from each other and from the skulls by small sterling silver disc spacers. All the elements used to create the sugar skull earrings were strung on sterling silver headpins, wire wrapped and then glued so the skulls always face forward. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the WILD EYED SKULLS are a wonderful jewelry gift for the woman who loves unique sugar skull earrings, not only to wear at Halloween and Day of the Dead, but also all year long.
