Hieroglyph Earrings, Vintage Glass Snake Vertebrae Handmade Jewelry

The unique "Ancient Scribes" handmade earrings feature artisan Egyptian hieroglyph dangles, vintage glass snake vertebrae beads and sterling silver - one of a kind jewelry for women.

The ANCIENT SCRIBES handmade earrings are a perfect jewelry gift for the woman who loves the wonder and mystery of Egyptian hieroglyphs. The one of a kind earrings feature artisan created pewter hieroglyph charms, vintage glass snake vertebrae beads and sterling silver. The lead free pewter dangles, individually hand cast, feature a different set of hieroglyphs on each charm. One dangle has, from top to bottom: an eye (which represents safety), a zigzag (represents water), two curved staffs (which represent folded cloth), a spiral (represents shelter) and an unidentified marking at the bottom. The other has: a sideways lotus bud (represents rebirth), a quail chick (represents the letter W which was a vowel sound) and a zigzag (represents water). The hieroglyph charms have a lovely antique, rustic look and aren’t the exact same shape. A bit wider on the bottom than at the top, they were given a patina to bring out the details of the hieroglyphs and then polished to look like heirloom silver. The back of the charms have a slightly grainy, darker finish. To add unexpected beauty to the design of the hieroglyph earrings, vintage glass snake vertebrae beads are stacked above the charms. Sometimes called zigzag beads, they get their more common name due to their resemblance to the interlocking vertebrae of snakes. Most vintage snake beads are Czech or French and were produced for African trade. The beads are at least 50+ years old and are colored coral orange and blue. For fun, two blue beads and one coral orange were stacked on one earring while the other has two coral orange and one blue bead. A 3 mm sterling silver bead nettles into the top of the upper vertebrae bead. Sterling silver French hook earwires finish the eye catching earrings. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the ANCIENT SCRIBES handmade hieroglyphs earrings were created for the woman who adores wearing unique designer jewelry. 

The fun hieroglyph charms were individually artisan hand cast from lead free pewter with vintage snake vertebrae glass beads topping the dangles.

Colorful Abstract Art Earrings Polymer Clay Carnelian Handmade Jewelry

 

The colorful "Colores Brilliantes" handmade earrings feature artisan abstract art polymer clay dangles and two shapes of orange carnelian - unique jewelry for women.

Big and bold with a breathtaking palette of vivid abstract art colors, the unique COLORES BRILLIANTES handmade earrings will definitely add a large dose of boho dazzle to your earlobes! The rustic, one of a kind earrings feature very lightweight artisan polymer clay dangles and two shapes and sizes of orange carnelian gemstones. The dangles were individually created from black polymer clay, freehand etched and then hand painted with glistening colors with a metallic sheen. Bold curves and swirls are reminiscent of some of the more colorful art works of Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning and others. Shimmering acrylic pigments in hot orange, gold, bronze, medium purple, turquoise blue and various greens were hand painted onto the dangles. I just wish the photos could show the amazing shimmer these earrings have! For a fun, boho look, the dangles are somewhat similar in design but are also uniquely different, as you can see in the photos. After the final curing of the dangles, several layers of crystal protectant were applied. The back side of each dangle is also painted and is signed by the artist. Since the dangles were created from polymer clay, the earrings are very lightweight to wear.

To perfectly complement the colors of the polymer clay dangles, orange carnelian gemstones were used. Just above the dangles are beautiful orange carnelian hand carved rounds that suggest flowers. The carbed rounds are mainly a rich medium orange but have natural lighter and darker swirls. Just above each carved carnelian flower, separated by two copper disc spacers, is a carnelian disc, also a medium orange with lighter colored swirls. Since both gemstones are translucent, they glow so prettily when the earrings are worn. Sterling silver French hook earwires with a copper bead accent finishes the earrings beautifully. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the COLORES BRILLIANTES were created for the woman who loves bold jewelry with a definite abstract art boho look. “Colores brilliantes” is Spanish for “brilliant colors.”

Blue Spike Dagger Boho Earrings Enamel Red Coral Handmade Jewelry Gift

The "Bellisimo in Blu" handmade earrings were created from artisan enamel spikes, artisan lampwork glass beads and red coral - boho jewelry gif for women.

If you love fabulously fun blue earrings in a boho spike or dagger design, then you’ll love the BELLISSIMO IN BLU handmade earrings. The exquisite, one of a kind earrings were created with artisan enamel dangles, artisan speckled blue lampwork glass beads and red coral. The gorgeously unique enameled dagger dangles were individually made from copper spikes. To create the background, shiny enamel glass powders in a rich blue color were fused onto the copper with a hot torch. Small bits of white glass powder were added to the lower part of the spikes to create falling "snow" or maybe flower petals. An Italian murrine glass cane was used to create the flower in the center top of each spike surrounded by lighter blue glass. To add extra eye appeal and texture, four raised red glass dots encircle the top of the murrine flowers. Since the dangles were individually handmade, they are very similar in design but not exactly the same. The back of the discs are enameled in black for a professional finish. Please note: since the enamel design was created with high shine enamel glass, there is quite a bit of reflection in the photos. Rest assured - the dangles are mainly a lovely blue with wonderful accents.  To perfectly complement the colors of the enamel daggers, artisan lampwork glass beads and red coral were used. The lampwork glass beads were individually artisan handmade with a base of clear glass. While that glass was still molten, a glass frit with shades of blue was added, creating blue speckles. Since the base glass is clear, the lampwork beads positively glow a radiant blue when the earrings are worn. To highlight the raised red glass dots on the spikes, red coral nuggets were added on top of the lampwork beads, separated by two sterling silver daisy spacers. Another sterling spacer and a small sterling bead rest on top of each coral nugget. Small red coral rounds were added to the sterling silver French hook earwires for extra fun. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the one of kind BELLISSIMO IN BLU earrings were created for the woman who adores unique spike jewelry with a definite boho flair!  "Bellisimo in blu" is Italian for "beautiful in blue."

Pumice Lava Rock Necklace, Wood Turquoise Magnesite Handmade Jewelry

The "Sueños de la Tierra" handmade necklace features creamy pumice lava rock tubes, wooden beads and turquoise magnesite - unique jewelry gift for women.

The unique SUEÑOS DE LA TIERRA handmade necklace has such a beautifully neutral color scheme that you will be able to wear it with a wide range of outfits - pale colors of the desert with bits of blue representing the sky. The one of a kind necklace features creamy white “lava” rock pumice tubes, earthy wooden beads and turquoise magnesite discs along with a liberal sprinkling of copper. Since real lava rock only comes in black and brown, the lovely tubes used in the necklace is actually pumice, another type of volcanic stone.  Lava rock is a trade name for both. Pumice is created when super heated rock is ejected from a volcanic eruption and, due to rapid cooling once the rock hits the air, small gas bubbles are trapped. As you can see in the photos, the pumice tubes are filled with tiny holes, which also makes the stones very light in weight. Pumice can be quite rough on the skin, but these tubes have been ground to a silky smoothness so there are no worries about irritation when the necklace is worn. Thirteen creamy white pumice tubes were used, all with a copper daisy spacer at each side to separate them from the rest of the beads.  A pale brown wooden bead and a bright blue turquoise magnesite disc is found between each pumice tube. The wooden beads add an earthiness to the necklace design, especially since many have natural stripes. The permanently dyed turquoise magnesite discs add a pop of unexpected, fun color to the design. The back of the necklace is finished with three wooden beads and three turquoise magnesite discs interspersed with copper beads and spacers. A pure copper hook clasp set with a raised dot design securely fastens the necklace. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the SUEÑOS DE LA TIERRA necklace is a perfect gift for the woman who loves unique, one of a kind artisan jewelry that can be worn with a wide range of outfits. “Sueños de la tierra" is Spanish for “dreams of the earth.”

Snowman Christmas Earrings, Swarovski Pearls Crystals Holiday Jewelry

The "Elegant Snowmen" handmade earrings feature Swarovski crystal pearls and jet black Czech and Swarovski crystals - unique holiday jewelry for her.

If you’re looking for a smile inducing pair of handmade Christmas earrings, ones that are not over the top holiday glitzy but have more than a touch of extreme elegance, the ELEGANT SNOWMEN earrings are the perfect pair for you. And what elegant snowmen they are, looking like they are stepping out on the town to go to a formal Christmas event. Featuring snow white Swarovski pearls, sparkling black Swarovski crystal collars were added along with black crystal top hats. The main body of each snowman is made with two different sizes of Swarovski crystal pearls, the larger for the body, the smaller for the head. As you can see in the photographs, the pearl finish is exquisite, like a gowing mirror-finish. Because of the fabulous glow of the Swarovski crystal pearls, I had a hard time photographing the earrings since the pearls reflected the colors around them, including my silhouette and the sky. Rest assured, the color of the Swarovski pearls are a lustrous snow white.  To add a touch of sparkly elegance to the snowman earrings, gold plated brass squaredelles set with faceted jet black Swarovski crystal bicones separate the larger pearl from the smaller pearl forming a sparkling collar. Two jet black crystals are found on each side of the wavy-edged squaredelles.  Since all handsome snowmen need a top hat, the hat of each snowman was made from faceted jet black Czech crystal rondelles (the bottom part of the hat) and faceted jet black Swarovski crystal bicones (the top part). The black collars and the black top hat are just the right amount of contrast with the pearls for eye catching appeal.  Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the ELEGANT SNOWMEN earrings can be worn with any outfit, from very casual, to office wear, to your very dressy holiday wear (perfect with a little black dress!). These cuties will certainly become a "go to" pair of holiday earrings!

The head and body of the snowmen are made with snowy white Swarovski crystal pearls.
