The unique "Ancient Scribes" handmade earrings feature artisan Egyptian hieroglyph dangles, vintage glass snake vertebrae beads and sterling silver - one of a kind jewelry for women.

The ANCIENT SCRIBES handmade earrings are a perfect jewelry gift for the woman who loves the wonder and mystery of Egyptian hieroglyphs. The one of a kind earrings feature artisan created pewter hieroglyph charms, vintage glass snake vertebrae beads and sterling silver. The lead free pewter dangles, individually hand cast, feature a different set of hieroglyphs on each charm. One dangle has, from top to bottom: an eye (which represents safety), a zigzag (represents water), two curved staffs (which represent folded cloth), a spiral (represents shelter) and an unidentified marking at the bottom. The other has: a sideways lotus bud (represents rebirth), a quail chick (represents the letter W which was a vowel sound) and a zigzag (represents water). The hieroglyph charms have a lovely antique, rustic look and aren’t the exact same shape. A bit wider on the bottom than at the top, they were given a patina to bring out the details of the hieroglyphs and then polished to look like heirloom silver. The back of the charms have a slightly grainy, darker finish. To add unexpected beauty to the design of the hieroglyph earrings, vintage glass snake vertebrae beads are stacked above the charms. Sometimes called zigzag beads, they get their more common name due to their resemblance to the interlocking vertebrae of snakes. Most vintage snake beads are Czech or French and were produced for African trade. The beads are at least 50+ years old and are colored coral orange and blue. For fun, two blue beads and one coral orange were stacked on one earring while the other has two coral orange and one blue bead. A 3 mm sterling silver bead nettles into the top of the upper vertebrae bead. Sterling silver French hook earwires finish the eye catching earrings. Cat Bastet Earrings, Egyptian Hieroglyph Czech Glass Handmade Jewelry

The "Bastet" handmade earrings were created from orange opal Czech glass beads with a cat hieroglyph on each side and turquoise tri-cut Czech glass beads - jewelry for the cat lover.

Named after the ancient Egyptian cat goddess, the BASTET handmade earrings are a perfect jewelry gift for the woman who loves the beauty and grace of the lovely felines. The one of a kind earrings feature glowing orange Czech glass cat beads, turquoise Czech glass tri-cut beads, copper and sterling silver earwires. The unique oval cat beads are a rich orange opal color that are translucent and absolutely glow in the light. Each side has a pressed, recessed hieroglyph image of a seated, wise looking cat. To bring out the incredible details of the cats and to add an aged look, a bronze Picasso finish was added to the beads. The bronze wash settled into the recessed areas highlighting the hieroglyphs. Lightweight to wear, the earrings look perfect from every angle since the beads are two-sided.  To complement the orange opal glass, a turquoise tricut Czech glass beads was added to the top and bottom of the cat beads. The The tri-cut beds are round but have three facets (hence “tri-cut”) to add subtle sparkle. The turquoise beads also have a Picasso finish, a rich earthy brown, scattered here and there on the beads.  Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the BASTET hieroglyph earrings were created for the woman who loves cats, Egyptian symbolism and unique artisan jewelry.
