Mother And Baby Dolphin Pendant

THE SINGING BEADER

A mother dolphin plays her baby as they lightly swing through the circular metal hoop form. The round hoop is hand wire wrapped at the top portion with sterling silver wire. I added a 3mm sterling silver bead to represent a ball balancing on the nose of the baby dolphin. The dolphin charm is hollow on the opposite side. See photo 8.

The antiqued silver-filled steel 16 1/2" chain has 2.3 mm links. The chain fastens with an antiqued silver trigger clasp.

Wear this necklace with a scooped neck top, so that your skin shows through the hoop. Looks fantastic! Perfect necklace for one who loves sea animals, the beach or nature. A lovely birthday or Mother's Day gift.

Very nice to wear to the beach however, you should remove it when swimming.

Here is interesting information about dolphins and their baby calf:

A baby dolphin or whale is called a calf and they are very close to their mother. The calf is very dependent on its mother. The two will spend many months together sometimes even years before the young calf can take care of itself. Dolphin babies are born flukes first and sometimes come out head first. As soon as the baby is born the mother pushes it to the surface for its first breath or air. Baby dolphins do not know how to swim when they are born but they learn about a half hour after they are born.
