Giraffe Boho Earrings, Black White Tribal Batik Coral Handmade Jewelry

Who doesn't love the gentle beauty and long-legged majesty of giraffes? Big and bold, the TWIGA handmade boho earrings are a perfect gift for the woman who loves giraffes and tribal-inspired jewelry. The long, eye catching earrings feature artisan enamel giraffe head dangles complemented with African batik bone beads and red coral. The giraffe dangles, which were individually artisan handmade from copper blanks with fused white enamel glass powder was fused copper blanks. A stencil and black enamel glass powder was used to form the giraffe design using a high temperature butane torch. Just look at the incredible detail of the giraffes! The charms are basically mirror images of each other.  The backs of the charms are finished in black enamel. Despite the larger size of the earrings, the unique giraffe earrings are lightweight to wear.  To perfectly complement the giraffes and to add ethnic appeal, African batik beads and red coral rondelles were stacked above. The Fair Trade batik beads were individually handmade from cow bone, painted with wax and then dyed. The wax repelled the dye, leaving the off white color of the bone showing. The design, an “eye” surrounded by a circle, is thought to ward off the evil eye. Two eyes are found on each bead. To add a pop of brilliant color, red coral rondelles cap the top and bottom of the batik beads, separated by copper disc spacers.  Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the TWIGA earrings were created for the woman who loves giraffes and stylish boho, tribal jewelry! “Twiga” is Swahili for “giraffe.”
