Poppy Flower Earrings w Ruby, Onyx Swarovski Crystals
These unique Poppy Flower Earrings were designed using Red Porcelain Poppy Pendants. Each Flower is accented w 4mm Ruby Swarovski Crystals, and 4mm Onyx Swarovski Crystals. The Poppy's and Crystal's are attached using Sterling Silver wire wrapping, and Sterling Silver French Hooks. The Earrings hang 2" in length.
The Poppy Flower was adopted in 1922 as the Official Memorial Flower. During WW1,
8.5 million Soldiers were killed in Battle. In one Battlefield in Western Europe, Poppies began to bloom in the Battlefields. It soon became a powerful "Symbol of Remembrance". That is why so often (even today) on Veteran's Day, you will see many Veteran's passing out Poppy Flowers!
