Perfect handmade jewelry for the exotic animal lover, these unique, one of a kind ANIMALIA earrings are fun, looking as if they are antique Victorian animal art. The lightweight earrings feature vintage tin animal dangles with a rhinoceros and a jackal, Swarovski crystals and copper. Carefully hand cut, the animal dangles were reclaimed from a vintage tea tin. The edges of the dangles were ground to a silky smooth finish. The top animal is an illustration of a critically endangered Sumatran rhinoceros, which now is only found on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. It’s an unusual looking animal with skin that has an armor-like appearance. The animal below the rhinoceros is a black-backed jackal found in eastern and southern Africa. It’s very fox-like in mannerisms and is mainly reddish with a black and silver “saddle” on its back with a bushy tail tipped in black. The back of the vintage tin dangles is a pale golden color with a mirror-like finish which does show a bit of wear.  To add eye catching sparkle to the earring design, a faceted Swarovski crystal bicone was carefully wire wrapped to sway below each of the animal tins. The color, a warm brown called “light Colorado topaz,” perfectly complements the earthy colors of the tins. A copper jump ring connects the dangles to a wonderfully texture rope design copper closed ring. Sterling silver French hooks, each with the addition of another brown Swarovski crystal, finishes the earrings perfectly. Tiger Face Boho Earrings, Ceramic Lampwork Pearls Handmade Jewelry

The "Los Tigres" handmade earrings feature artisan ceramic tiger shield dangles, artisan lampwork glass beads, Swarovski crystals pearls and Swarovski crystals - unique tiger jewelry for women.

Go more than a little wild when wearing the LOS TIGRES handmade earrings! The earrings are almost hypnotizing in their unique boho beauty - just take a look at the intense expression on the faces of the majestic tigers. The one of a kind earrings feature artisan made ceramic tiger face shield shaped dangles, rustic artisan lampwork bead nuggets, Swarovski pearls and Swarovski crystals - all mixed together to create a pair of earrings you’ll want to wear over and over again. The tiger shield-shaped charms were individually handmade from ceramic earthstone, bronze clay, a gloss glaze, black and white tiger face ceramic decals and a final lustre glaze. The charms were kiln fired a total of three times for strength and durability. As you can see, the tiger faces are exquisite in their detailing and power, each one just a bit different as with real tiger faces. The shields are curved towards the back; the back scorched to a shimmery finish.  Despite being rather large earrings, they are lightweight to wear.  To perfectly complement the tiger shield charms, rustic lampwork glass bead nuggets also individually artisan made, were stacked above the dangles. They started out as a base of taupe glass that were heavily etched. Then a layer of translucent mellow yellow glass with frit speckles was added around the middle of each. When the frit was added, it produced spots and speckles in shades of blue, dark red-brown and green with a prismatic effect in sunlight. Since the beads are nuggets, they are not exactly the same size and shape. To counter the heavily rustic appearance of the lampwork beads, sleek and shiny white Swarovski crystal pearls were added on top, separated by sterling silver daisy spacers. Then, to highlight the blue specks of the lampwork beads, indigo blue Swarovski crystals cap the white pearls and were added to the sterling silver French hook earwires. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the LOS TIGRES earrings were created for the woman who loves the magnificent animals and who loves to wear one of a kind artisan jewelry.  “Los tigres” is Spanish for ”the tigers.”
