Unique for the woman who likes small but fun, eye-catching jewelry, the PEEPS handmade earrings are a perfect gift for the birder in your life or for the woman who just loves the beauty of birds, especially sandpipers, also called peeps. The one of a kind earrings feature Czech glass coin shaped beads with an imprinted bird, copper bicones and sterling silver earwires. The sweet coins were created in the Czech Republic from ivory glass that is slightly translucent. A walking bird design, somewhat reminiscent of sandpipers (peeps) as they scurry along the beach, was pressed into both sides of the coins. Then, to bring out the details of the peeps and to add a rustic look, the beads were covered with a metallic bronze Picasso finish. They were then polished, leaving the bronze finish in the recessed areas and other tiny crannies. As you can see in the photos, the birds on both sides are very similar but also different. Since the bird beads are two-sided, they look fabulous from any angle. A simple design was chosen to compliment the sandpiper bird coins. Three copper bicones were stacked above the coins while a single copper bicone is found below. The elements for each earrings was wire wrapped with a copper head pin and then connected to sterling silver French hook earwires. A copper bicone was added to each earwire for added beauty.
