This is a traditional Appalachian Quilt design made in stained glass! The beautiful glass in this piece is a wonderful sampler of different colors, textures and styles of glass!

This pretty stained glass quilt square is 6.5 inches and is framed with copper came. There are copper hanging loops at the sides of the frame that allow this piece to hang like a diamond. The technique used to construct the panel is the copper foil method, developed by L.C. Tiffany at the turn of the century. The soldering has been finished with a copper patina. The traditional Appalachian fan quilt square pattern was adapted for stained glass construction and design. This fan pattern has been popular throughout Appalachia and can be found on many handmade fabric quilts.

The colors of glass used in this small window hanging are varied shades of blue/green, rusty red, lavender, soft green and clear textures. The glass will sparkle as the colors shift with the changing daylight. This is a lovely piece of craft that will offer a frequent, pleasant resting place for your eyes and will add to the interest in your room decor.

Copper jack chain is offered as an extra option for hanging. This chain is hard to find in small quantities, so I offer a piece of it in the drop down menu.
