Be Happy It's Purim Earrings

Be Happy It's Purim Earrings

The word "purim" means lots and is from the Biblical Book of Esther which is read on Purim. It is because Haman, the villain drew lots to choose the day to exterminate the Jews* and he wore a tri-cornered lot. The Book of Esther is where the expression "The Whole Megillah" comes from.

Celebrate Queen Esther and Mordechai who saved the Jews from extinction when you hear the Megillah at synagogue.

Purim begins in 2019 at sundown on Wed. March 20 and continues through Thursday, March 21 at sundown.

Purim Earrings - Grager Earrings - Jewish holiday earrings - Jewish jewelry are for you to remember the noise you make when the bad guy's name is mentioned during the Megillah reading on Purim.

  • They have Czech glass medium blue crystals and Swarovski crystals along with Czech rondelles for some additional bling.
  • These earrings are on silvertone earwires and are around 2" long.

The heroes of the Purim story are Esther, a beautiful young Jewish woman living in Persia, and her cousin Mordecai, who raised her as if she were his daughter. Esther was taken to the house of Ahasuerus, King of Persia, to become part of his harem. King Ahasuerus loved Esther more than his other women and made Esther queen, but the king did not know that Esther was a Jew, because Mordecai told her not to reveal her identity.

It's a joyous Jewish holiday where drinking is encouraged, people dress up in costumes, and make a lot of noise.

The Jewish charm earrings are handmade with love by Linda B of LinorStore.
