Created with artisan made, hand painted brass diamonds, sparkling Czech glass beads, copper and sterling silver, they are fun and flirty with a vintage look to them. The brass diamonds were hand cut, the edges filed to a silky smoothness and given a slight wavy ridged texture. Hand painted on both sides in a combination of aqua, gold and white, they look somewhat like a piece of modern splash art in the style of Jackson Pollock. To add a fantastic rustic look, the diamonds were very lightly sanded to let a bit of the brass show along the ridges. They were then sealed for many years of wearing joy. Because the diamonds are painted on both sides, the earrings look fabulous from any angle.  To perfectly complement the painted diamond dangles, eye catching Czech glass beads, made in the Czech Republic, were added above. The beads were created from clear glass and then coated with a metallic Picasso finish. The finish flashes a whole range of colors from aqua to green to golden with bits of blue and orange thrown in when the light hits them just right. The square beads are long faceted, creating v-shapes that allow the clear glass to show through for a unique 3-D effect. The photos don’t do justice to their beauty at all. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the MAGNIFIQUE, the well named earrings were created for the woman who loves unique artisan earrings that are eye-catching and lightweight to wear. “Magnifique” is French for “magnificent.”

The brass diamonds were hand textured and hand painted with aqua, gold and white.
