If you are a fan of the vibrant, intriguing Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, you will absolutely love the appropriately named FRIDA KAHLO dangle earrings! The boho earrings feature faux vintage copper Frida dangles and two sizes of sparkling, richly-colored Swarovski crystals. The unique Kahlo trapezoid shaped charms look as if they were cut from old cookie or tea tins. But they only mimic rustic vintage tins since they were individually artisan hand cut, filed and sanded from modern copper. A permanent metal transfer was applied and then sealed. The picture of Frida is an iconic self portrait, although it is a mirror image of the original. A black cat is at her left shoulder, two white butterflies are in her hair and she is wearing her thorn necklace. Since the dangles were individually handmade, there are slight differences which add wonderful rustic vibes. The back of the dangles is smooth, shiny copper which will gradually gain a patina over time. Since the charms are made from copper, the earrings are very lightweight to wear.

Because the Frida Kahlo charms are gorgeous in their own right, simple complements were all that was needed to complete the earrings. Sparkling Swarovski crystals were chosen in a color called “medium vitrail.” The crystals are partly coated with a multicolor foil that produces brilliant flashes of green, purple, blue and other colors depending on how the light hits, perfectly highlighting the colors found in the dangles. Two sizes of the crystals were used: a 6 mm crystal was wire wrapped to the top of the dangles and a 4 mm wire wrapped dangle dances at the bottom. To add even more sparkle, a 4 mm medium vitrail crystal was added to each sterling silver earwire.
