Czech glass lotus beads are featured in the handmade earrings and are combined with glittering Swarovski crystals, copper and sterling silver. A lovely multi-petal lotus flower design was impressed into minty green and clear glass coin beads. The translucent glass was given a matte finish for a glowing sea glass look. To bring out the beautiful details of the lotus blossom and the rustic small pits and “cracks,” a metallic bronze Picasso finish was applied which settled into the recessed areas.  Since the lotus coin beads are two sided, the yoga earrings look fabulous from any angle.  To add an even more beauty to the elegant earring design, a faceted Swarovski crystal bicone was added to the top of each lotus bead, separated by a small copper disc spacer. The color of the crystals is called “peridot,” a peaceful shade of green evoking the spirit of nature.  All of the components used to make the earrings were strung on handmade (by me) copper headpins with a hand hammered loop at the bottom.  Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the NOBLE LOTUS blossom will be a much loved gift for the woman who meditates, practices yoga and just loves to wear meaningful, one of a kind jewelry designs!

The lotus blossom coin beads were created in the Czech Republic from minty green and clear glass with a matte sea glass finish and an impressed lotus flower on each side.

Lotus Yoga Earrings, Lavender Fuchsia Pink Handmade Jewelry

The "Kamal" handmade earrings feature Czech glass lotus blossom coin beads and lavender gray opal Japanese seed beads with sterling silver - unique yoga jewelry for women.

These gorgeous KAMAL lotus blossom earrings are a perfect jewelry gift for the spiritual woman who practices yoga and/or meditates. The earrings might be on the smaller side but they pack huge meaning and will be beauties that she’ll reach for time and time again. Czech glass lotus beads are featured in the earrings and are combined with small Japanese nugget beads and sterling silver. A lovely lotus flower design was impressed into slightly rustic, pale lavender purple Czech glass coin beads. To bring out the beautiful details of the lotus blossom and the rustic small pits and “cracks,” a metallic fuchsia pink Picasso finish was applied which settled into the recessed areas. The lavender purple glass is translucent and positively glows as you can see in the photos of the earrings hanging. Since the lotus coin beads are two sided, the earrings look fabulous from any angle.  To add an even more rustic feel to the elegant earrings design, two small Japanese glass nugget beads were stacked above the lotus coins. They were created from a lavender gray opal glass, and because of silver lined inner finish, they glow much like opals do. Because the beads aren’t perfectly round, they may not hang perfectly straight (as some of the photos show), adding great texture to the earrings. Adding silver sheen, two small sterling silver disc spacers, separate the opal glass beads and cap the top and bottom of the stack. Lotus Flower Glass & Crystal Earrings

- Blue Lampwork Artisan Beads, Carved Bone -

  

These unique lotus flower earrings are a lovely union of carved bone and blue lampwork glass beads with pink-toned crystals and sterling silver components. The bone lotus beads are a creamy color with nice hand-carved petals. The lampwork beads are rondelle-shaped, with an etched surface that gives them the look of sea glass. They were made by talented artisan Charlotte Hayes of CoverGirlBeads. I chose them to represent the blue celestial skies reflected in the waters on which the lotus flowers would float.

The pink-toned crystals are Swarovski padparadscha bicones. Their pink hue has hints of orange—a color combination based on that of a rare sapphire. The word "padparadscha" is derived from the Sanskrit "padma raga," which means "hue similar to lotus flower." Crystals of this color are thus very fitting for lotus bead earrings!

Also included in these Buddhist inspired earrings are the following:
• Sterling silver rondelles and head pins
• Sterling bead caps and daisy spacers
• Swarovski AB crystal bicones
• Sterling silver hooks and ear guards

For an extra touch of elegance, and to enhance the lotus flower's symbolic meaning of spiritual illumination, I decorated the front of the hooks with the AB finished crystals. About the Symbol of the Lotus Flower

As beautiful in meaning as it is in form, the lotus is one of our most positive symbols. It holds significance for anyone undergoing life changes, working toward inner peace, or dealing with life's many struggles.

There are many types of natural lotus plants, but the symbolic variety is typically the white or pink lotus that carries spiritual importance in India and Asiatic countries. In Hinduism, this aquatic flower often serves as a seat or platform for divinities such as Vishnu and Ganesh; in Buddhism, it provides a seat for bodhisattvas. Lotuses adorn headdresses and crowns in the iconography of these religions. In Tibetan scroll paintings (thangkas), they often float through skies or on rivers. Divinities and bodhisattvas often hold them as if they were precious jewels, and indeed, in meaning, the lotus is the most precious jewel of all.

The key to this meaning is the purity and beauty of the blossom despite its origins from a seed embedded in the mud of the water's bed below. Despite the world of illusion and egocentric desires (symbolized by the mud), awareness, growth, and transformation are possible (symbolized by the blossom). The lotus thus represents spiritual flowering and attainment—a great awakening from the dark, shadowy regions of ignorance and misunderstanding into the illumination of truth, beauty, and wisdom.

Pink Sacred Lotus Shield Earrings, Copper Green Handmade Yoga Jewelry

The "Peaceful Pond" handmade earrings were created from artisan made pink lotus shield charms, pink Czech glass beads, copper and sterling silver - meaningful yoga jewelry for women.

Filled with the serenity of the sacred pink lotus, the one of a kind PEACEFUL POND handmade yoga earrings will quickly become favorites, both for their meaningful tranquility but also for their boho styling. The one of a kind earrings were created from artisan pink lotus flower charms, faceted pink Czech glass rondelles and hand hammered copper rods. The unique shield shaped charms look like they were cut from old cookie or tea tins. But they only mimic vintage tins since they were hand cut, filed and sanded from modern copper. A permanent metal transfer was then applied: a sacred pink lotus flower, green lily pads and rushes and a brown cattail against an ivory background. Because the charms were individually handmade, they are very similar, but, if you look closely, you can see a bit of a difference. The back of the charms are glowing copper which will gradually gain a patina over time. Since the charms are made from copper, the earrings are extremely lightweight to wear.

The shield shape lotus charms hang from hand hammered and textured rods and pink Czech glass beads.

To allow the shield shaped lotus charms great movement when worn, I decided they needed to hang from rods. The rods were created (by me) from thick copper wire that was hammered flat and then textured, the ends rounded back. Two faceted Czech glass beads separate each end of the charms from the copper rods. The glass beads are a luscious translucent pink color swirled with opaque white glass, a perfect complement to the lotus flowers. The shields and pink glass beads were carefully wire wrapped to the rods with thin copper wire. A loop was formed, centered and wire wrapped to the rods. Sterling silver French hook earwires with a pink glass bead finishes the earrings perfectly. Symbolism of the lotus:

The padma (Nelumbo nucifera, the sacred lotus) is an aquatic plant, often growing in muddy water, that plays a central role in many religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism, and, most recently, Baha’i. Because the lotus rises from muddy waters and blooms as a brilliantly pure, gorgeous flower, it is thought of as a symbol of human consciousness on the path to spiritual enlightenment. In Buddhism, the lotus is symbolic of a person’s path through life. The lotus seed stage represents the early stage of the karmic cycle. During the next stage, the bud travels through the muddy water emerging on the surface into light - this represents following the path of spirituality, leaving attachments behind. Finally when lotus blossoms, a person has become fully awakened and has achieved nirvana. The pink lotus is considered very sacred, representing the essence of the Buddha himself.
