Sea Turtle Beach Earrings, Enamel Lampwork Swarovski Handmade Jewelry

The "Tortugas" handmade earrings feature artisan enamel sea turtle charms, artisan lampwork glass beads and Swarovski crystals - unique turtle jewelry for women.

Wonderful handmade jewelry for the woman who loves sea turtles, the one of a kind TORTUGAS earrings are perfect for that beach getaway . . . or to wear at home. The unique earrings are created with artisan enamel turtle charms, artisan aqua blue lampwork beads, Swarovski crystals, copper and sterling silver. The eye catching sea turtle dangles were individually made from artisan shiny white enamel copper squares.  Permanent decals with sea turtle designs were applied while the glass was still molten. The whimsical sea turtles have a hand painted watercolor look to them. One looks as if it's coming to the surface of the ocean and one looks as if it’s diving deeper. As you can see in the photos, the details of the turtles are exquisite and are perfectly highlighted against a pale blue and white “bubble” background. The back of each dangle is finished with speckled dark blue enameled glass for strength and durability.  To perfectly complement ocean colors of the sea turtle charms, speckled aqua lampwork glass beads and faceted Swarovski crystal bicones were stacked above, colors that represent the oceans.  The lampwork beads, each individually artisan made, were created from white glass with a added to give a speckled effect, mainly aqua blue but there are also bits of purple and pale green. A copper flower spacer caps the top and bottom of each lampwork bead. Above each lampwork bead sits a sparkling Swarovski crystal in a rich tourmaline blue color called “indicolite.” Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the TORTUGAS handmade earrings are a perfect gift for the woman who loves turtles, loves the beach and loves wearing artisan handmade jewelry. “Tortugas” is Spanish for “turtles.”

Sea Turtle Earrings, Green Tan Terra Cotta Handmade Artisan Jewelry

The "Las Tortugas" dangle earrings feature artisan handmade turtle charms, faceted Czech glass beads and peridot green Swarovski crystals - one of a kind jewelry for women.

Perfect one of a kind jewelry for the woman who loves sea turtles, the LAS TORTUGAS handmade earrings are ocean inspired beauties. Created with artisan made pale minty green and tan sea turtle dangles, the earrings also feature faceted creamy brown Czech glass beads and peridot green Swarovski crystals. The fabulous turtle charms were individually artisan handmade from terra cotta ceramic with a raised sea turtle design against a flat background giving great texture to the dangles. A soft minty green glaze was used for a rustic distressed look - when fired, the glaze settled into recessed areas, leaving some of the raised terra cotta ceramic to peek through.  To highlight the terra cotta areas of the dangles, creamy brown Czech glass rondelles were placed above the turtles. The beads are faceted for subtle sparkle and have a darker brown Picasso finish on the top and bottom for an aged look. A mega-sparkling faceted peridot green Swarovski crystal bicone tops each glass bead.  Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the LAS TORTUGAS earrings are a great gift for the woman who adores sea turtles and loves to wear one of a kind, artisan jewelry. “Las Tortugas” is Spanish for “the turtles.”

Turtle Earrings, Ivory Blue Zircon Crystals Handmade Jewelry Gift

The "Tortugas" handmade earrings were created with Czech glass turtle beads, Czech crystal rondelles and sparkling Swarovski crystals - jewelry for women.

The TORTUGAS earrings are perfect for the woman who has an abiding love for turtles or who adores anything having to do with the life aquatic. The artisan handmade dangle earrings feature ivory Czech glass turtles with an earthy Picasso finish of light amber, rust brown and a bit of light red for an aged look. The Picasso finish also highlights each scute (section of shell) perfectly. The backside of the turtles are flat with a Picasso finish, and as you can see in photo #5, the back of one turtle is much redder than the other. The slight luster of the turtle beads is like an eggshell finish. Since Czech glass beads are made in very small batches as a cottage industry, no two turtle beads will ever be exactly the same.

The Czech glass turtle beads started out with a base of pressed ivory glass with a Picasso finish added to give an aged look.

Adding great sparkle to the one of a kind earring design, two types of crystals were used. Capping the head of each turtle are copper rondelles set with glittering clear Czech crystals. Adding an aquatic feel to the earrings, a faceted Swarovski crystal bicones in a rich Caribbean aqua were nestled into the top of each rondelle. The color is called “blue zircon” and adds a lovely pop of color to the overall design. Just imagine the eye catching sparkle every time you move your head! Finishing the unique earrings, everything as carefully wire wrapped on copper headpins and attached to sterling silver French hook earwires with copper bead accents. The TORTUGAS earrings were carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs. “Tortugas” is Spanish for “turtles.”
