Let's see if this is something we can use.

  1. sorry, it was a clone of last year's CPP sold - ignore the other links because I couldn't figure out how to remove them. I will have to learn something new.

  2. phooey, my site has images blocked - I think it's the magnifier that I paid 60 bucks for, so I had to manually enter my images. Blech ...

  3. Tried to post with a URL from ArtFire, but the URL was rejected.

  4. I must be doing something wrong because it wouldn't work with an Etsy item either.

  5. I finally got an item from ArtFire up. This is the message I got if I tried to download the image from the item page on AF:

An error occurred trying to retrieve images from that page.
Please try again. Be sure your address is exactly correct.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Some blog sites block any attempt to read the code from a page.

If you continue to see this note, try another blog address OR download your image to your local computer, and use FROM FILE to upload your image.

I ended up having to copy the image to a pic folder and then loading the image from that folder.

    1. That's the message I received from both AF and Etsy.

  6. After reading Mary's comments, I decided to try sharing an item from Indiemade. Got the same message. Had to add the pic manually from a file.

  7. I got the same message on shopify - I thought it was me. I may have to see what's up with linky

  8. Having a hard time uploading the photo from my file. Keep getting error messages too. The yellow is from my Shopify. I had to really work with uploading the photo but finally got it from the file.

The second pic is from Artfire. I a lot of problems with freezing and not letting me click the upload link but finally got it after trying over and over.

The third picture is from Artfire. I forgot I changed to the Kumquat listing and kept trying to upload the previous picture (#2). Everything kept freezing up on me but finally got the wrong picture to upload.

  9. Just tried two large hole beads. The first from Shopify and the second from Artfire. I double clicked the file and then the upload image from file. They seemed to freeze but I sat here a while and it finally changed and gave me the pictures from both sites.

  10. This last listing for the striped diamond bead, I decided to just click and wait to give it time to change. It worked. I just had to slow way down and be patient.

  11. I sent the linky guy a note this morning and asked him about it. We shall see what he says. My subscription to this runs out on 2.2 and I only got it because inlinkz made such a drastic change last year that it looked unusable. They made some adjustments and improvements, so I stayed with them. I have been with them since almost their beginning.

    1. Check out the directions I just posted - above. Maybe that will help? I hope so. I hope they are clear and don't confuse anyone.

    2. Connie, I just got one of yours to post. Use the directions Mary so graciously provided above and it should work for you.

  13. Just want to mention that I just posted two items using desktop photos, and there was no problem. One item is from AF, the other from E.

However, I'm still getting that loading icon for the Handmade Shares InLinkz post. I can't do anything with it. I've tried the Control menu of my computer, hoping that if I saved the link in another tab, it would work. But it won't let me save.

  14. PS - I posted a info graphic above. I wanted to share it here in the comments, but seems we can't. I hope it helps. At least it's a way to get a photo posted by the Linky tool.

  15. we shouldn't have to do gymnastics to get the photo to load.

  16. I sent this post to the linky owner, as well as a couple example links that I could not get the images to load from the websites. One was Shopify and one was Etsy. My problem with uploading images is that we lose the backlink to the image that is important in Google image searches and building site trust.

  17. My subscription ends 2.24, which may make this entire conversation moot. :)

  18. I hope all this gets resolved well. I agree, it's best to able to use linky as we always have. Thanks, Julie, for your efforts! And major treats to Master Harry Cutie Pup from the Sunday Snoozin' Kitty.

  19. I have decided to stay with inlinkz and let linky expire. Now, we just have to get AF to play nice with Maria or manually enter our AF links another way. We will have a countdown to Mother's Day and adjust accordingly. We are quite adaptable that way.
