The FRIDA ENCANTADA handmade earrings are so very well named: “enchanted Frida,” indeed!  Based on a 1940 self portrait dedicated to one of her doctors and good friend, Dr. Leo Eloesser, the colorful Frida Kahlo dangles are artisan created from high quality, rectangular-shaped black polymer clay with a permanent art transfer. For durability and shine, the dangles were given several coats of varnish. The self portrait has been closely cropped to only show Frida’s regal face and the mass of colorful flowers in her hair. A black border highlights the art . As you can see in the photos, the charms are mirror images of each other. The backside of the dangles are black and inscribed with the artist’s mark. Since the dangles are made from polymer clay, the earrings are very lightweight to wear. To perfectly complement the Frida Kahlo charms, premium Czech glass roller beads and sparkling Swarovski crystals were used. The roller beads were created from a combination of various shades of pink and clear glass around a metallic copper center. They positively glow! And with the addition of facets, they also sparkle. Two of the pink Czech beads were stacked on top of the Frida charms. And talking about sparkle, a single Swarovski crystals in an eye catching “medium vitrail’ finish was nestled into the top of the roller beads. The crystals sparkle with a rainbow of colors: purples, pinks, greens, blues and others. A sterling silver bead caps each crystal.
