Claddagh Gemstone Earrings for St. Patrick's Day

- Amethyst & Unakite, Celtic Fede Gift of Love -

These lovely Claddagh earrings feature silver "crowned heart in hands" love charms, purple amethyst gemstones, green unakite, and Swarovski clear cystals. The charms are from TierraCast (made in the USA) and are silver-on-pewter hoops with the Irish hands and heart symbol forming the bottom center of the hoops. These are nicely detailed charms and eye-catching.

To ornament these charms, I drew on my experiences visiting Ireland, remembering time spent exploring the Irish countryside amid the purple heather and rich green of late summer. To represent the first, I used faceted amethyst beads; for the greenery, I decided on unakite, which has variegated green coloring along with salmon touches and mineral nodules. The meaning of this gemstone—unity—influenced my choice.

Also included with these Ireland-inspired earrings are Swarovski clear crystals (made in Austria), sterling silver rondelles (made in Italy), rhodium-on-pewter spacers (made in USA), silver plate pins, and sterling silver ear hooks. The length here is about 2 inches with the hooks.

These pretty and meaningful Celtic love earrings would make a perfect gift for someone special—a mother and grandmother as well as a wife or girlfriend. Anyone who loves Ireland would also find them meaningful. They were handmade by me with great care, thought, and best wishes for their destined wearer. They come on a PrettyGonzo earring card and in a nice organza bag, wrapped and ready for gifting to that someone special—or to yourself!

ABOUT THE CLADDAGH
This Irish symbol originated in the Claddagh area of Galway, at one time a separate village from the city. The symbol was traditionally used in Ireland to embellish "fede" rings, which date back to ancient Rome and were common in Europe after the Dark Ages. Fede rings typically include the image of joined hands, a symbol of love's pledge and loyalty. Like most rings of this kind, the Claddagh served as an engagement ring or a wedding band—and still does. Today the symbol is also used in various kinds of jewelry and may express friendship or maternal love as well as romantic love. As for the symbolic image, the Claddagh consists of two hands holding a regally crowned heart; the hands represent friendship, with the crown standing for loyalty atop a loving heart. Among the sentiments connected with the Claddagh is the saying "Let love and friendship reign."

ABOUT UNAKITE & AMETHYST
Unakite is traditionally considered a healing gem of positive connection and energy. It is also seen as a stone of connection and unity, which dovetails with the meaning of the Claddagh charms. The term "epidote" comes from the Greek "epidosis," which means "growing together." It is associated with the heart chakra.

A member of the quartz family, amethyst is often considered a protective, talismanic stone. It is associated with the crown chakra and is the birthstone for February. Amethysts are crystals and often have inclusions, clouding, and other interesting elements to them, as well as various shadings of their distinctive purple color.

THE SINGING BEADER

The gemstones in this handmade bracelet have aqua turquoise colored howlite that combines chunky, large ovals and small round beads, along with dark gray round hematite stones. The gunmetal-plated toggle clasp is a lovely match to the gray veined howlite and hematite stones.


What makes this bracelet unique is the way I strung the beading wire. The bracelet required double strands of beading wire to facilitate the clusters of round stones that separate the larger oval stones. Each of the clusters is separated with single strands, then the double strands are strung through the oval stones. For durability, the wire is double crimped at the bracelet endings.

A lovely gift, or treat yourself. An organza gift pouch is included.

Van Gogh Art Earrings, Wheat Field with Cypress Handmade Jewelry Gift

The "Wheat Field" with Cypress features a Van Gogh painting permanent transfer on polymer clay, and Czech glass beads - unique art jewelry for women.

The colorful WHEAT FIELD WITH CYPRESS art earrings are inspired by the 1889 Vincent van Gogh painting of the same name. The one of a kind earrings were created with rectangle-shaped polymer clay art dangles, glowing premium Czech glass roller beads, faceted creamy yellow Czech glass beads and sterling silver. The unique dangles are individually artisan handmade from high quality black polymer clay with a permanent van Gogh art transfer. For durability and shine, the dangles were given several coats of varnish. A black border on the polymer clay rectangle dangles defines the pastoral scene. The backside of the dangles are black and inscribed with the artist’s mark. Since the dangles are made from polymer clay, the earrings are very lightweight to wear.  To perfectly highlight the earthy colors of van Gogh’s painting, two types of Czech glass beads were used. The larger are premium glass roller beads, a wonderful combination of orange, yellow and fuchsia with a glossy fire polished finish. The center is a silver metallic finish which causes the beads to absolutely glow. Above each roller bead, separated by a sterling silver daisy spacer, is a small, single creamy yellow Czech bead. Since the beads are faceted, they provide subtle sparkle to the earrings design. Sterling silver French hook earwires with a creamy yellow Czech bead finish the beautiful earrings. Purple Clear Lampwork Earrings Thai Silver Handmade Jewelry Gift Women

The Bellezza handmade earrings feature artisan handmade clear and purple lampwork beads and Thai fine silver cornerless beads - jewelry for women.

Glowing crystal clear lampwork glass beads, spotted purple lampwork beads and Thai Hill Tribes fine silver cornerless beads all come together to create the simply beautiful BELLEZZA handmade earrings. The two sets of lampwork beads are artisan handmade from two different artists. The lampwork beads used on the bottom of the exquisite earrings are a rondelle shape and were individually created from transparent glass. Each bead has a few tiny air bubbles, which adds definite eye appeal. The lovely purple lampwork beads beads started out as clear glass. When they were still in their molten stage, a rich berry purple glass frit was applied to form the subtle spots. The two lampwork beads are a perfect complement to each other.  Above each purple bead is a Thai Hill Tribes fine silver cornerless beads with an imprinted flower design on the flat sides. They are artisan made high in the mountains of Thailand from fine silver which is more pure than sterling silver. Each bead is very similar but not exactly the same. A sterling silver daisy spacer separates each element used to create the unique earrings. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the BELLEZA earrings were made for the woman who adores one of a kind earrings, especially those that glow when worn. “Bellezza” is Italian for “beauty.”
