The one of a kind FRIDA PRECIOSA handmade earrings are so very well named: “”gorgeous Frida” or “precious Frida,” indeed! These enchanting Frida Kahlo earrings are based on a full length self portrait, sometimes called “Between the Curtains,” painted in 1947 and dedicated to her friend Leon Trotsky. In the painting, she wears a long peach and white embroidered skirt, fringed brown shawl and gold jewelry. The Frida dangles are artisan created from high quality, rectangular-shaped black polymer clay with a permanent art transfer. For durability and shine, the dangles were given several coats of varnish. The self portrait has been closely cropped to only show Frida’s beautifull face and a pink flower in her hair. A black border acts like a frame to highlight the art . As you can see in the photos, the dangles are mirror images of each other, but, in the original painting, she is gazing to the right. The backside of the dangles are black and inscribed with the artist’s mark. Since the dangles are made from polymer clay, the earrings are very lightweight to wear. To perfectly complement the Frida Kahlo polymer clay dangles, premium Czech glass roller beads and sparkling Swarovski crystals were used. The roller beads were created from a gorgeous magenta pink and clear glass mix with a silver metallic center. They have a rustic finish to them to add an aged look, and, since they’re translucent, the beads absolutely glow when worn. And with the addition of facets, they also add subtle sparkle. And talking about sparkle, a single faceted Swarovski crystal bicone in a rich, eye catching color called “ruby” red was stacked on top of each roller bead, separated by a sterling silver daisy spacer. Sterling silver French hook earwires finish the earrings. Frida Kahlo Earrings, Monkey Cat Boho Crystals Handmade Jewelry

The "Frida" handmade earrings feature artisan created Frida Kahlo dangles from copper and Swarovski crystals - unique jewelry for her.

Frida Kahlo was a vibrant Mexican artist and is beloved the world over. If you are a fan of her life and work, you will absolutely love the appropriately named FRIDA dangle earrings! The boho earrings feature faux vintage copper Frida dangles and two sizes of sparkling, richly-colored Swarovski crystals. The unique, artisan made Kahlo charms look as if they were cut from old cookie or tea tins. But they only mimic rustic vintage tins since they were individually artisan hand cut, filed and sanded from modern copper. A permanent metal transfer was applied and then sealed. The picture of Frida is an iconic self portrait painted in 1940 - the earrings are a mirror image of the original. A black cat sits on her left shoulder, her pet monkey sits on her right, two white butterflies are in her hair and she is wearing a symbolic thorn necklace. Since the dangles were individually handmade, there are slight differences which add wonderful rustic vibes. The back of the dangles is smooth, shiny copper which will gradually gain a patina over time. Since the charms are made from copper, the earrings are very lightweight to wear.  Because the Frida Kahlo charms are gorgeous in their own right, simple complements were all that was needed to complete the earrings. Sparkling Swarovski crystals in two sizes were chosen in a color called “graphite,” a bluish gray-black tone full of deep, shadowy sparkle. Sterling silver earwires with copper bead accents finish the design beautifully.
