Summer Sun Earrings, Beach Sunrise Surf Pewter Handmade Jewelry Women

The unique "Good Day, Sunshine" handmade earrings feature artisan created pewter sunrise and surf charms and yellow Swarovski crystals - summer jewelry for women.

Full of sparkling fun, the GOOD DAY, SUNSHINE handmade dangle earrings are perfect to wear during those long summer days at the beach, at home or at a party. The one of a kind earrings feature artisan handmade, lead free pewter charms with a sunrise and surf design. The high quality sun and surf charms were given a dark patina and then polished to add a lovely vintage look to them. The glowing design is raised to give wonderful texture to the charms. The back of the charms are a dark patina.  Because of the sunrise surf vibe, three sets of sparkling Swarovski crystals were carefully wire wrapped with sterling silver wire to the bottom of the charms, adding amazing sparkle to the earrings. The color of the crystals is a vibrant yellow called “sunflower.” Small sterling beads cap the top and bottom of the crystals - the middle dangle has three beads on top to make it a bit longer than the dangles to each side. Sterling silver French hook earwires finish the unique earrings. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the GOOD DAY, SUNSHINE earrings were created for the woman who loves eye catching artisan jewelry.

I stopped one afternoon to stalk them with my lens, and although the colts were dancing around, most of my colt shots are better for cards and not cross stitch. I took a good photo of the horses being horses and that translated well into cross stitch, so here is my horse cross stitch pattern.

St. Padre Pio Pocket Rosary Chaplet

- Catholic One-Decade Prayer Beads, San Damiano Cross -

This pocket rosary chaplet is dedicated to St. Padre Pio, the patron of stress relief, winter blues, adolescents, and civil defense volunteers. He was a Franciscan most of his life, from the age of 15, and was known for his experience of the stigmata. This one-decade chaplet was designed with dark rosewood beads, a nicely detailed base-metal holy medal (made in Italy), black onyx rounds, and a lovely Crucifix of San Damiano (made in Italy).
 

The chaplet also includes:
• TierraCast rhodium plated bead caps
• Sterling silver rondelle spacers
• Sterling silver heavy-duty crimps
• Large sterling silver crimp cover
• TierraCast silver plated oval jump rings
• Sterling silver wire guards
• High-quality 49-strand beading wire

All of the above were made in the USA except the sterling rondelle spacers, which were made in Italy. The length of the pocket rosary is approximately 10.75 inches, including the medal (1 inch) and crucifix (1.5 inches). The bracelet also comes with a complimentary holy card, which is shown in one of my shop photos on Etsy. I purchased that, the holy medal, and the San Damiano crucifix at the National Shrine of Our Lady of LaSalette in Massachusetts. The shrine is a beautiful place of peace and contemplation.

The pocket rosary's earthy wooden beads remind us of St. Pio's life as a Franciscan priest. They deepen the meaning of this devotional aid, which I designed with care, thought, and best wishes. It comes ready for gifting.

A BRIEF WORD ABOUT ST. PADRE PIO
One of the most popular saints in the world today, Padre Pio lived most of his 81 years in the 20th century; thus, like St Theresa of Calcutta, he was a person who saw the advance of the modern world. He became a Franciscan friar when only 15, and several years later was ordained as priest. His experience of the stigmata, which was widely witnessed, is one outstanding mark of this saint. His formal saint's name is St. Pio of Pietrelcina, and he is patron of civil defense volunteers, adolescents, stress relief, and winter blues.

ABOUT THE CRUCIFIX OF SAN DAMIANO
The design of this crucifix is based on the rood cross at the church of San Damiano near Assisi, Italy. It was in prayer before the San Damiano cross that St. Francis was instructed by Jesus to rebuild the church, which had been abandoned and allowed to deteriorate. St. Francis felt both a physical and an emotional transformation from this spiritual experience, and as a renewed man, did as Jesus commanded. The rebuilding of San Damiano became the physical counterpart of the self's interior reconstruction, the Franciscan vocation to discover one's genuine self in Christ. Compassion, mercy, love, acceptance, forgiveness, and the recognition of the worth and dignity of all people are the key elements of this personal reflection of Christ. The cross of San Damiano reminds us of these spiritual qualities and the importance of striving to imitate Jesus as we rebuild our interior lives and help rebuild the greater community, or house, of God. It is a spiritual challenge for all.

This style of crucifix is classed as an icon cross because along with Jesus it portrays various saints and figures of the crucifixion scene. The Virgin Mary, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, Saint John, and the Roman centurion who asked Jesus to heal his son flank the torso of Jesus. Above the crucified figure, the risen Christ is depicted leaving his tomb and ascending to heaven. More figures are depicted in the original cross in San Damiano.

Dog Lover Paw Print and Heart Earrings, Pink Lampwork Handmade Jewelry

The "Best Friend" dog rescue earrings feature artisan handmade copper paw prints and hearts dangles, artisan pink lampwork beads and white Swarovski crystals - meaningful dog lover jewelry.

The BEST FRIEND handmade earrings are a perfect jewelry gift for the dog lover, especially a woman who has a rescue dog (or two or more). The one of a kind earrings feature artisan copper paw print in a heart charms, transparent pink lampwork glass beads, also artisan handmade, and white Swarovski crystals. The meaningful charms were artisan created from beginning to end from precious metal clay, an artist's clay, that, when kiln fired, leaves pure copper. Since each round dangle was molded, shaped and carved one-by-one, you can tell from the photos there are slight differences from one charm to the other. After the kiln firing, the charms were given a patina and then polished for an aged, rustic look. If you look closely at the photos, you'll notice the hearts and paw prints were impressed into the copper, creating lovely texture. The hearts are recessed while the paw prints are raised in the middle of the hearts. To add a warm glow to the dog paw print earrings, gorgeous pink rose quartz lampwork glass beads and white Swarovski crystals were used. The lampwork glass beads were each created individually from transparent light pink glass (called “rose quartz” after the gemstone) with a high gloss finish. The color is soft and lovely, a perfect complement to the glow of the copper. And because the lampwork beads are transparent, they are glorious when backlit. Sitting on top of each lampwork bead, separated by a copper daisy spacer, is an opaque faceted Swarovski crystal bicone called “white alabaster,” adding subtle sparkle. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the BEST FRIEND dog rescue earrings were created for the woman who wants to show her love for her four footed companion(s).

I made these earrings by hand by forming a firm, 20 gauge wire into hoop shapes while beading on a large hole, silver-lined lampwork flower beads, and red Czech pressed glass round beads. The large hole beads are placed in the center of the hoop. These beads have a lovely bumpy flower surface with red, blue, green and yellow colors. The earring wires are non-nickel, suitable for those who are allergic to other metals. The size of the beads and the length of earrings are given below.

The "Bastet" handmade earrings were created from orange opal Czech glass beads with a cat hieroglyph on each side and turquoise tri-cut Czech glass beads - jewelry for the cat lover.

Named after the ancient Egyptian cat goddess, the BASTET handmade earrings are a perfect jewelry gift for the woman who loves the beauty and grace of the lovely felines. The one of a kind earrings feature glowing orange Czech glass cat beads, turquoise Czech glass tri-cut beads, copper and sterling silver earwires. The unique oval cat beads are a rich orange opal color that are translucent and absolutely glow in the light. Each side has a pressed, recessed hieroglyph image of a seated, wise looking cat. To bring out the incredible details of the cats and to add an aged look, a bronze Picasso finish was added to the beads. The bronze wash settled into the recessed areas highlighting the hieroglyphs. Lightweight to wear, the earrings look perfect from every angle since the beads are two-sided.  To complement the orange opal glass, a turquoise tricut Czech glass beads was added to the top and bottom of the cat beads.
