Big and bold and beautiful, the one of a kind SERENGETI SONG necklace is quite the chunky statement piece with ethnic-inspired flair! The unique handmade necklace features vintage black and white African batik bone beads, black onyx and sterling silver. Seventeen vintage (50+ years) batik bone beads make up the main body of the necklace. A fun, 12-sided polygon shape, the bone beads were individually had formed and decorated by artisans in Ghana; each bead is similar in design, color and shape but not exactly the same. The center of the beads are filled with black wood where the bead hole was drilled through. Mainly black and white, the there is some brown shading here and there. Since these are old vintage beads, there is some wear which adds even more tribal-inspired beauty.  Capping each side of the bone beads are shiny black onyx discs. To add sinuous drape and eye catching glow to the necklace, sterling silver beads separate the black onyx. The back of the necklace is finished with two groupings of five onyx discs separated by sterling beads. A textured sterling silver hook clasp set finishes the necklace securely. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the SERENGETI SONG necklace was created for the woman who adores wearing bold, ethnic-inspired jewelry.

The No Bones About It artisan handmade lampwork bone pendant features a unique bone shaped lampwork glass bead.  These bones are so much fun to make!  Amber is randomly drizzled around the ivory creating a different pattern for each one.  No two bones are ever the same.  I used sterling silver beads to complete this design.  The 6mm loop is large enough to fit most chains, cords and silk. It fits easily on my 4.3mm Pandora snake chain as an example. The jump ring should be large enough to slip on your favorite silver or leather necklace.

Chunky Tribal Necklace, Vintage Resin Bone Howlite Handmade Jewelry

The "Tribal Adventure" handmade necklace feature vintage resin beads, African batik bone beads and turquoise howlite - unique jewelry for women.

Filled with fabulous ethnic boho vibes, the chunky TRIBAL ADVENTURE necklace definitely makes a unique eye catching statement whenever worn (which will be often!). The one of a kind necklace features three vintage rondelle shaped black and white striped resin beads, black and white African batik horn beads and turquoise howlite gemstones. The three striped focal beads were upcycled from a vintage necklace and mimic African batik beads. Created from man made resin, they are in excellent shape and show very little wear and sport a high gloss finish.  To perfectly highlight the vintage resin beads, six fair trade batik bone beads were used, each individually handmade by members of an African artists co-op in Ghana. They are black with white accents and hints of dark brown. The batik beads are a unique shape: roundish but with three large “facets” cut on each end adding wonderful eye interest and texture. Beautiful turquoise howlite gemstone rounds separated the vintage beads and batik beads. Howlite is naturally and off white stone with gray to black matix. Since howlite takes a dye easily, it can be found in a wide variety of colors, such as these soft turquoise colored beauties. Carved Jade Moth Necklace, Fire Agate Gemstone Handmade Jewelry Gift

The "Determination" handmade necklace features a two sided carved jade moth pendant, speckled fire agate and small bone discs. 

Since the moth is considered a symbol of determination as it constantly tries to find light in any darkness, I just had to name this exquisite necklace DETERMINATION! A perfect gift for the woman who loves to wear bold jewelry, the unique necklace features a large, two sided jade moth pendant, spotted fire agate gemstones and white bone discs. The beautiful cut out moth pendant was delicately hand carved on both sides from jade - just look at the detail of the moth’s body, wings and the intricate detailing around the cut out areas! Since the pendant was hand carved, you can see that the right and left side of the pendant is not quite a mirror image, very similar but not exact. The jade pendant is a subtle creamy yellowish color ranging from very pale to darker with a hint of light rusty orange in places and speckles of black here and there. Because the pendant is two sided, you can decide which is your favorite side and wear it facing out. An eye catching lead free pewter bail with sacred spiral designs and a small dome at the top connects the pendant to the main body of the one of a kind necklace.

To perfectly complement the colors of the pendant, speckled fire agate and small bones discs were used. The speckled fire agate ranges in color from a rich root beer brown to almost black, each bead having various amounts of white dots and splotches. Some of the gemstones are translucent and seem to glow in good light; some of the agate is more opaque. Because the fire agate is faceted, the necklace catches the light and sparkles with every move. To play up the speckles and to give the necklace a sinuous feel, small white bone discs and sterling silver beads can be found between each piece of agate. The first seven at the front of the necklace ae separated by a single disc while the stones at the back are separated by three discs. A gorgeous sterling silver hammered hook clasp set finishes the necklace perfectly.
